Chanel Le Vernis May 535 nail polishThis Chanel Le Vernis May 535 nail polish is a very pretty, but not unique, cool-based mid-tone pink.

Part of the Harmonie de Printemps Spring 2012 collection (that also included April and June). May 535 is a go-with-anything springy pink that I am quite certain there are 100s of dupes of. However, since my nail polish collection philosophy is to try very hard to not duplicate colors in my stash, I don’t have other polishes to compare to directly.

Formula is a creme that is the classic, typical Chanel – a little streaky with the first thin coat that gets beautifully opaque, smooth, and self-levels with the thicker second coat. Unlike many of the Chanel cremes, however, there is no hidden shimmer in May. It’s just a straight-ahead color.

This application is 2 coats over Poshe Nail Strengthening Treatment Base Coat and topped with Out the Door quick dry top coat. Please excuse the small dent in my index in middle finger – have no idea how that happened but let’s just say that I was rushed at the end of my mani.

Chanel Le Vernis May 535 nail polish is available for US $26 on chanel.com and at Chanel counters worldwide.

My reviews are of products I purchased, and that I (usually) love. Other than affiliate links with Amazon, I receive no compensation, samples or other products of any kind.
