I don’t know how to describe Chanel Le Vernis Tentation 541 nail polish. Part of the Spring 2012 Roses Ultimes de Chanel Collection (along with Attraction, Frisson and Distraction), this hot-pink fuchsia jelly polish just GLOWS when you put it on. That still doesn’t really describe how this looks. It GAAHLOOWWS. When people have described jelly polishes as “juicy” looking, I think the effect you get from Tentation is what they are referring to. My nails look like little hot-pink jelly beans with this stuff on.
It’s interesting, too, because a polish like this does not get lots of love from the blogosphere, or the fashion press. They all go ga-ga for Peridot, which is just “meh” to me actually – a shade that you feel as a Chanel aficionado you have to have, but one that quite frankly, isn’t supremely flattering on.
But yet I put on Tentation and I just go, “oooohhh.” Both in how it applies – impeccably, beautifully – and also in the end result. Did I say it GAAAHLLLOOWWWS?? Why aren’t more people going just absolutely CRAZY for this polish? It’s really amazing. Sheer with the first coat (but not at all streaky), and just depth galore with the second. This is two coats over Poshe Nail Treatment Base Coat and topped with Seche Vite quick dry top coat. Tentation has a deep purplish/blue shimmer both in the bottle AND on the nail that just adds an amazing endlessness to this polish.
Okay, enough gushing. Go out and get this polish NOW! I promise you won’t be able to stop looking at your nails if you do. You can get Tentation 541 for US $26 at chanel.com and at Chanel counters worldwide.
